IGLESIAS + RODRIGUEZ

IGLESIAS + RODRIGUEZ is the redesigned childhood home of Rolando Rodriguez, reimagined by the artist/architect himself as the headquarters for the creation and development of his projects, as well as to serve as an archival collection of family artifacts and history. Based in South Central Los Angeles and named after his parents, whose migration from El Salvador to the United States led to this home, the colorful walls are inspired by collective vivid memories, each room blending into the other like different scenes on a set, with all furniture designed and handcrafted by the artist himself.

2010-2020. Leading to the final architectural design of the decade, Rolando worked in various capacities for designers of stage and film, as well as with curators of contemporary performance and art. In addition to his collaborations and produced work, Rolando wrote two feature screenplays, four short screenplays, a play, dozens of poems and prose that remain unproduced/unpublished. In addition, he further delved into the role of a performer and created several drawings, photos and designs, filmed several short films and recorded several songs that have not been publicly released.
