Web Designer and Manager (2016 - Present)
-
I design, create pages, and keep content updated on my personal website using Squarespace. It is currently limited to one page to highlight the recent publication of my newest short story in Huizache Magazine.
-
I have been the webmaster of the REDCAT website since 2016 and I was part of the design committee with FISK and NewCity before the new website launched in 2021. Currently, I advise on layout and presentation, create pages, and keep content updated using the Drupal platform. I am also familiar with the ticketing platform AudienceView, which we have linked for sales on the website.
Photo/Video Campaign Creative Director (2024)
-
I creative directed this marketing campaign with photographer Angel Origgi to promote the New Original Works Festival, a 3 week presentation of performance that I also organized and curated. I chose the colors, worked with artists on movement and poses, and also edited several short interviews on Premiere Pro that were posted on social media. It generated a lot of engagement amongst the artist community.
Print and Digital Materials Project Manager (2021 - Present)
-
I work with a graphic designer, copy editor, social media manager, printer and the senior leadership team at REDCAT to set a timeline and deadlines for the collection of written and visual materials, review of drafts, and release dates. Printed assets include a foldable mailer and large banners. Digital assets include social media graphics, lobby slides, and ads. In certain instances, I also make digital corrections or create new digital materials using Photoshop, following our style guide. In addition, I collect all materials that are featured on webpages, choose key art, and lead the editing and rewriting process.
Newsletter and Program Designer (2016 - Present)
-
I format the REDCAT newsletters which go out to about 20k+ subscribers, at least twice or more a week. This includes collecting copy, images, ensuring all links are accurate, and designing the layout on Mailchimp. I also write and format press releases which go out to press in advance of shows.
-
Since 2016, I have been formatting printed programs for REDCAT shows, which are printed in-house. This requires coordination with artists to collect the copy, some copy editing to ensure writing is up to our standard, and formatting in a way that fits our style using InDesign. I produce more than 60 programs a year, sometimes more than one a week.
Cover/Poster Designer (2012 - Present)
-
Creating conceptual book covers and film posters has become a part of my narrative art practice as ways to promote the works and their themes. Most of these employ collage of digital and printed materials using Photoshop, but I also have drawn my own designs.
Narrative Filmmaker and Production/Costume Designer (2012 - Present)
-
I wrote, directed, edited, production and costume designed this short film, which was shot on the REDCAT stage. I designed the posters and created several digital and physical models of the set in preparation for this shoot.
-
I wrote, directed, edited, production and costume designed this short film, which was shot entirely on green screen. I then digitally created the sets using collage, which was then inserted into the film. This project was supported by and screened at Outfest.
Beyond my own short films, I have also compiled visuals, drafted designs, acquired materials, graphic designed, created models, designed props and executed final looks for production designers, set decorators, set dressers and property masters during the preparation, construction and dressing of sets for various independent feature films, television shows, commercials and short films, including MTV’s Faking It and Mary + Jane, Rob Zombie’s 31, The Fabulous Allan Carr, The Tiger Hunter, and Alaska Is a Drag.
